AKA Water Pipes, bubbler, or Water bongs, have been around for as long as stoners have, and are favored for their filtration properties creating smoother hits! DankCartel and our staff have compiled an exclusive selection of bongs for sale made from the highest quality glass, or other safe to use materials such as our silicone bongs
Water bongs work by filtering fine particle from smoke, and cooling it for an even greater hit, and if your bong has a percolator (perc), you can expect even greater diffusion, condensing and cooling! Whether you are using flowers, or dried herbs, smokers have been enjoying the gentler, smoother hits from glass bongs for decades! For those of you that use wax, oils, dabs, resin, or shatter, we recommend selecting a dab rig, which is designed specifically for concentrates
But what are the things you need to know before purchasing your Water Pipe or Bong?
First off, ask yourself, do I need a Dab Rig or Water bong. How will you be able to tell which one suits your needs? Well, if you are looking to light up some flowers or dry herbs, you’ll want a bowl, however dabbers need a banger nail to heat up the concentrate, making a dab rig your best option. If you can’t decide which one you prefer, like many of us can’t, consider buying a piece with an unattached downstem so that you can have the best of both worlds! If your just into dabs though, check our selection of Rigs
Some things to remember when purchasing your Water Pipe:
SIZE DOES MATTER: Glass water bongs come in different joint sizes. Joints are the glass pieces that connect the different parts of the pipe, and to shake things up a bit, joints actually come either male or female. Which one you’ll need is pretty straightforward, males attach to female parts and females attach to male parts. Water pipes can come in 10mm, 14mm, or 18mm joint sizes, the actual sizes themselves don’t make much of a difference, but sometimes the smaller joint sizes get clogged up quicker than the larger sizes. Buying the right size downstem is very important to ensure a tight seal, check out our guide on how to measure your downstem for more information.
Now that you understand what a bong is, let’s talk about the types of bongs availiable to you, and trust us, there’s a lot. From a classic beaker style, to sophisticated, and intricate designs, DankCartel stocks them all, check out our selection of glass bongs to decide which one best fits your needs!
A beaker bong, which was actually designed after a piece of lab equipment, the beaker, features a wider bottom to allow for a sturdier. This makes your glass piece much more secure, so it can be passed around easily during your lit sesh, also that wider bottom means more water and smoke, which only means more pleasure! The narrower opening helps prevent water from backflowing into your mouth on the inhale, making your hit clean, smooth, and tasty! Unfortunately, there are some cons of using a beaker bong, when compared to the alternative straight tube, beaker bongs make it harder to get a steady controlled hit because they leave room for larger bubbles, even though there are often less of them. Practice makes perfect though, and with some trial and error, you too can perfect the art of using the beaker bong.
While beakers are as old as time, Straight Tubes are truly classics! Straight tubes come in a wider selection of styles, and are loved for their easy to use design. These glass pieces are also called Straight shooters because they have a long straight neck that is fixed to the water chamber. Straight tubes are usually made from glass or silicone and will have either a fixed downstem or a percolator. These bongs are ideal for dry herb enthusiasts, but don’t be fooled, a straight tube can be used with concentrates too, the elongated neck makes it easy to grip, and customize, with so many options. You can add multiple stacked arms and tree percolators, splash guards, or drains. These bongs also come in a variety of sizes, and styles, and you can even choose your desired glass thickness as well. If you’re not big on the hard hits, get a straight tube that has an ice pinch. The ice pinch works to cool down your hits, so it’s not so harsh when you inhale.
Straight tubes, unfortunately, hold less water than a beaker bong because of the narrower base, but the narrower base is what makes this straight tube more convenient and portable than other glass bongs. Straight bongs also come in silicone or acrylic, which is amazing because these guys are shatterproof, inexpensive, and easy to clean.
If you’re just getting into the world of water pipes, beaker bongs and straight tubes offer versatility and functionality, and you can always customize your piece with various add on parts and accessories. Always double check to make sure you’re purchasing the appropriately sized accessory to fit the joint size of your piece, and if you’re having trouble, use our guide to finding the right sized accessory to help. For the concentrate lovers out there, now worries, bongs can function as rigs too! Water pipes that have a removable downstem are perfect for dabbing because you can switch the stem out for a dab nail, or for any other accessory you desire!
Known for their unique shape, small size, and smooth, tasty hits, bubblers have earned their reputation. Bubblers usually come in two styles, a Sherlock style, that resembles the pipe smoked by the infamous Sherlock Holmes, or a small glass water-pipe resembling a bong. These pieces have a long straight neck leading down to a “bubble” bottom, which holds a larger volume of water thanks to its shape, producing massive rips! The mouthpiece is generally oversized, with a fixed or removable downstem leading to the base. With a larger base, and submerged downstem, you’ll get a massive, smooth, clean, and even hit every time.
Bong bowls or slides are a necessary part of every bong or water pipe. Without it, where would you put your tobacco or legal dry herbs? Bowls do exactly what the name suggests, they hold your goods for consumption, but they don’t have to be boring. While they are an essential part of your bong, bowls can also be artistic, with fun designs, and tons of varying options on the market. Bowls usually can be found in one of two sizes, 14mm or 18mm, and can be either male or female. You’ll want to confirm to size of the joint on your piece to coincide with the bowl you need, ensuring the perfect fit. This part is super important because the purchasing the wrong size of bowl will not work. Bowls can come with different depths too, the depth of your slide attachment changes based on the design and shape of the bowl. So, if you’re planning on having a sesh with multiple people, opt for a deeper bowl, but if you’re looking for that one man can type of high, go for a smaller bowl, pack it down really good, and light it up. Don’t be boring either, while most pieces will come with its own bowl, you don’t have to use that one, bowls can be swapped out for a more fun alternative at any time.
What’s a bong without a downstem…it’s just a useless bottle with a hole! The downstem is probably the most important part of your bong; it basically carries Smoke from the bowl into the water chamber of your Glass Pipe to filter and cool each hit for the smoothest draw! Downstems are available in a wide range of sizes and lengths, so be sure to know what you need before purchasing one. Dankcartel has a wide range of Downstems for sale.
